2024 kia EV9

The 2024 Kia EV9 pricing will start with a base price of $54,900, without destination. Considering this is a well-equipped, midsize three-row electric SUV, color us impressed.

At current count, other than the upcoming EV9, you have just five three-row electric SUVs on the market, and all – except the tiny Model Y – are more expensive. By at least $5k.

Base prices for the known “competitors” at this time, in ascending price order:

  • Tesla Model Y: $34,390
  • Mercedes-Benz EQB: $60,500
  • Rivian R1S: $78,000
  • Tesla Model X: $69,590
  • Mercedes-Benz EQS: $113,840

2024 Kia EV9 pricing includes standard stuff

This 2024 Kia EV9 pricing pricing is for the Light RWD model – which doesn’t have the long-range battery. Though people might point to the Telluride’s base price of $36k, and get grumpy, you have to keep in mind, first, the 2024 Kia EV9 is an EV. Telluride isn’t. Second, you’ll get a lot of standard stuff.

What’s included, you ask? Think leatherette seating surfaces, 19-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple Car Play/Android Auto, wireless charging and the ability to use your phone as a key. That’s just for starters.

The standard powertrain you’ll see on this Light RWD model is a 76.1 kWh battery and a 160 kW motor, which will deliver 215 horsepower. It also comes standard with 800V architecture that allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 25 minutes.

But how’s it drive?

We had the opportunity to do a sneak-peek drive and completely fell in love. It’s confident on the road, the tech is amazing, and the interior is well-appointed and comfy.

Though our drive was carefully curated, we walked always feeling like the 2024 Kia EV9 was one of the best new vehicles we’d ever driven. Like ever. Granted we were in up-level trims with the long-range battery, but still. Ever.

The bottom line

We’ll see this all-new EV toward the end of this year, and while it’s currently being built in South Korea, production is moving to Georgia in 2024, which means it will likely qualify tax credits. That makes the 2024 Kia EV9 pricing $55k even more attractive.
