cheaper EVs

In this abbreviated 35-minute livestream, Publisher Tim Esterdahl and Managing Editor Jill Ciminillo discuss whether EVs will get cheaper, if hydrogen is the better way forward and a Lego Ford F-150 Lightning.

The EV conversation stems from an Auto News article about a recent statement from Volvo CEO Jim Rowan, who said that EVs will cost the same as their gasoline counterparts by 2025. Esterdahl and Ciminillo discuss whether that is realistic or pie-in-the-sky — especially considering a gas-only Ford F-150 is nearly $30k less than an all-electric F-150 Lightning.

Digging into the hydrogen conversation, Esterdahl and Ciminillo turned to another Auto News article that states hydrogen’s moment may have finally arrived. They discuss where they fall on the hydrogen issue, and viewers chime in with comments. They also play a video about a campaign Toyota pushed out in 2015 that was called “Fueled by Bullsh*t.

Finally, they talk a bit about what’s on the website this week, including a life-sized Lego Ford F-150 Lightning that is on display at Legoland in Florida and the one-of-a-kind Ram “Traveller” truck.

Esterdahl and Ciminillo do weekly livestreams on YouTube, which are projected out to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. They alternate between Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. EST, so be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow them on social media for the upcoming live episode timing and topics.
