Not every 2022 Toyota Tundra comes with a bed step factory installed. When Publisher Tim Esterdahl bought his truck, he did not get the 2022 Toyota Tundra bed step and later wished he had. So he’s adding a step after the fact.
Note: The mechanical drop-down step featured in this video is not the power step that is available as an optional add-on or part of a higher-end appearance package.
Installing the 2022 Toyota Tundra bed step
As you can see in the video, the installation may require you to remove an existing bracket in order to install the step. You’ll need to be careful with the push-pin style fastener so that you don’t break it and are able to re-install the bracket after the step is installed. Once that is out of the way, the step install looks pretty simple. Esterdahl takes us along for the process and shows exactly how he installed the mechanical bed step on his new Tundra.
How do you get a step?
Right now the parts department is way behind, but we’re guessing it won’t be long before you can order one for yourself because these steps are awesome, and every Tundra owner is going to want one.
