Toyota is expanding the 2026 Toyota Camry lineup with a new Nightshade Edition, adding a darker appearance package to the hybrid-only midsize sedan. The updated lineup continues with five trim levels, available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.

The biggest change for the 2026 Toyota Camry is the addition of the Nightshade Edition trim. Based on the SE grade, the Nightshade adds black exterior accents, gloss black badging, black mirror caps, black door handles and unique 19-inch black wheels. Toyota says the model is aimed at buyers wanting a sportier appearance package.

The Nightshade Edition slots between the SE and XLE trims in the Camry lineup. It is available in front-wheel drive or electronic on-demand all-wheel drive. Exterior colors include Ice Cap, Supersonic Red and Midnight Black Metallic.

  • New Nightshade Edition trim added
  • New Exterior color called Dark Cosmos, a Hazy blue color available on the SE, XLE and XSE grades
  • Hybrid powertrain remains standard on every trim

Hybrid Powertrain Continues Across Entire Lineup

Toyota continues offering the Camry only with a hybrid powertrain for 2026. Front-wheel-drive models produce 225 horsepower while all-wheel-drive versions increase output to 232 horsepower thanks to the rear electric motor.

Fuel economy remains one of the Camry’s biggest selling points. The LE trim leads the lineup with up to 51 mpg combined in front-wheel-drive configuration, while sportier trims like the SE and Nightshade are rated around 46 mpg combined.

Toyota’s electronic on-demand AWD system remains optional on every trim level, giving buyers additional bad-weather capability without moving away from the hybrid setup.

Interior Features and Technology

The Camry lineup continues offering an 8-inch touchscreen as standard equipment on lower trims, while higher trims can be equipped with a 12.3-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain standard.

Sport-oriented SE and Nightshade models feature SofTex-trimmed seats with unique accent stitching, while XLE and XSE grades add more premium materials and available features such as ventilated seats, panoramic glass roof and head-up display.
