2026 Jeep Cherokee exterior teased

Another day, another teaser photo of the 2026 Jeep Cherokee has been revealed and this time we see the rear styling.

Following up on the May 30, 2025 teaser photo of the front-end styling, the new Jeep Cherokee rear styling shows off the what the rear will look like.

This new SUV will launch sometime in 2025 and is now the worst kept secret of a new vehicle coming ever and that’s likely on purpose.

Jeep needs some momentum and positive PR after a sixth consecutive year of sales decline.

What do we know about the 2026 Jeep Cherokee

Frankly, we don’t know much beyond its look.

Our best guesses are that it will be offered with a turbocharged powertrain much like the smaller Jeep Compass has a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with an 8-speed transmission. It is likely there will be a 4xe plug-in hybrid setup as well.

While we don’t have any interior shots, it will likely have all the latest technology like the Uconnect 5, a large infotainment screen, digital dash and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

We think it will return to the Belvidere, Ill., plant, where it was built before, and will share space alongside a mid-size Ram pickup truck also in the works.

And it should be priced in the low $30,000 range putting it right between the smaller Jeep Compass which starts at $26,900 and the Grand Cherokee at $36,495.

Our take

Jeep had been a sales success with the Wrangler smashing records until the Ford Bronco swopped in to crash the party. Now it looks to regain traction launching new products and redoing its lineup to attract new and past customers back to the brand. Bringing back a Cherokee should be a move in the right direction.
