The fourth-generation Honda Pilot is getting a refreshed look for the 2026 model year, borrowing styling elements from the all-new Passport.
Shoppers comparing the updated Pilot with other SUVs often browse cars for sale Grand Rapids to see what local inventory offers. Adding the refreshed Pilot to their search helps buyers weigh styling, features, and value across multiple brands.
More Rugged Style

For the 2026 model year, the biggest and most notable update to the Pilot 3-row SUV is the exterior design. Borrowing from the rugged and boxy 2026 Honda Passport, the bigger 3-row Pilot SUV’s lines get a little boxier as well. A larger and more expressive front grille flanked by new headlights looks most appropriate on the off-road-ready Trailsport Trim, but has been redesigned on all trims. New front and rear bumpers with silver or black scuff plates complete the exterior bodywork changes.
The Trailsport trim gets a new exclusive color, Ash Green Metallic, replacing Diffused Sky Metallic and serving as the Trailsport-exclusive color now available on all three Trailsport models from Honda. All trims gain Solar Silver Metallic and Smoke Blue Pearl paint options.
Improved Driving Character

Honda engineers added a retuned electric power steering unit that provides better steering feel and precision on all trims. Honda claims it gives a smooth, natural, and direct feel that supports driver confidence on winding roads. On-center weight was also increased for a more relaxed highway driving experience that should require less input from the driver.
Carryover Platform

Given that this is only a mid-cycle refresh after the fourth generation’s introduction as a 2023 model year, the 2026 Pilot is riding on the same platform as the 2025. All 2026 Pilot models are still powered by Honda’s 3.5-liter V6, making 285 horsepower and 262 lbs-ft of torque. While competitors are dropping cylinders and adding turbos, it is refreshing to see Honda stick with a naturally-aspirated V6.
Honda’s award-winning i-VTM4 all-wheel drive is available on all trims but is standard on Trailsport models. This system allows up to 70% of the engine’s torque to be sent to a single rear wheel, if needed. Up to seven different drive modes control the power delivery and driving experience: Normal, Econ, Snow, Sport, Tow, Sand, and Trail. Hill Descent Control is standard on all Pilot models.
Updated Interior

Inside, Honda has upsized the infotainment screen to a 12.3-inch unit seen in the Passport. The driver information screen is also larger, measuring in at 10.2 inches. Standard Appe CarPlay and Android Auto on all models combats the trend of automakers pulling phone projection. Honda has also worked to reduce the cabin noise by 2-3 decibels in key frequencies. All trims also have a power-opening tailgate, previously only available on EX-L and higher.
The Trailsport model now gets an optional brown leather interior that retains the trim’s orange contrast stitching, another upscale item borrowed from the 2026 Passport.
Availability

Honda builds the fourth-generation Pilot exclusively in America at the Honda Alabama Plant in Lincoln, Alabama. Since 2006, Honda says it has produced more than 2.5 million Pilots in Alabama.
