2026 Ford F-150 Changes: New Colors, Less Standard Equipment, Blue Cruise One-Time Purchase

The 2026 Ford F-150 changes are officially out and while this year is largely a carry-over, there are things consumers need to know.

Mechanical changes for 2026 Ford F-150

The 2026 Ford F-150 won’t see any engine or transmission changes for this model year, however, there is one significant change that could lower the price on higher trim models.

Consumers can now purchase a Lariat, King Ranch or Platinum trim model in a 2WD configuration instead of being forced into a 4WD model.

It is currently only an option on XL, XLT and STX and adding 4WD is a $3,860 upcharge. This isn’t always necessary for those who live in sunny climates.

Base Model King Ranch package

Another interesting change for the 2026 Ford F-150 will be a base model packages for the King Ranch.

Looking over the Order Guide, it appears Ford has made a few things optional for the King Ranch including:

• B&O Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen HD Radio (14 speakers including subwoofer)
• Power-Deployable Running Boards
• Multicontour seats with Active Motion Leather Bucket Seat with King Ranch Badge

Instead, you’ll get the Lariat Active-X seats aka “leather-like,” a B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen with HD Radio (8 speakers including subwoofer) and 6” Extended Running Boards.

Pricing is not available at the time of this post. The 2025 model started at $74,905.

Base Model Platinum package

Much like the King Ranch, the Platinum will also come with a base model package removing standard equipment.

The Platinum will come in four different ways to order it: 700A, Standard (700A) and 701A, High 702A, Plus 703A. For the so-called “Platinum Plus” this will be the 703A package.

For the base package, you will essentially get a Lariat trim with:

New Tremor 402B package

Also new for the 2026 Ford F-150 is a new package for the Tremor trim level. This is the off-road trim level with special badging and off-road equipment for the everyday user who doesn’t need a full-on desert racing Raptor model.

You get this equipment:

• Heated Steering Wheel
• Two-Speed Automatic AWD with Mechanical Locking 4WD and Hi-Lock Transfer Case
• Media Bin Door
• Pedals, Power-Adjustable w/Memory

You’ll have to option up for the 402A high package to get the following:

Three new colors and two new packages

Other changes include three new colors and two new packages.

The new colors include Avalanche, Argon Blue and Ruby Red. Ford is removing Atlas Blue, Rapid Red and Space White.

Then, there is a Platinum Satin Appearance Package (19G) and an XLT Chrome Package (86B). These packages typically include putting the highlighted finishes on door handles, mirror caps, wheels, grille and the tailgate badges.

Blue Cruise changes

Finally, Blue Cruise, Ford’s semi-autonomous driving feature can now be purchased for 7 years at one time.

This is available on XLT 302, 303A, King Ranch, Platinum and Tremor trim levels.

 The price will be $2,495 and is only available at the time of a new vehicle purchase. After the purchase, no additional subscription fees will be incurred for the service over the 7-year period.
