Hot on the heels of the Maverick Lobo launch, Ford Motor Co.  is now bringing the street truck phenomenon to its full-size truck, as it introduces a F-150 Lobo package for 2025. While you probably won’t take this truck to an autocross, it promises plenty of power and some aggressive styling. Here’s what we know.

What’s under the hood?

The Ford F-150 Lobo will be a package based off the STX trim, which offers both the 2.7-liter V-6 and 5.0-liter V-8. However, since the Lobo is more performance-oriented, it will only be available with the V-8. This delivers 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.

Unique features

Some of the most obvious additions to the F-150 Lobo package are visual, including a wide gloss-black mesh lower grille, a unique upper grille, 22-inch gloss-black wheels, black accented exterior features and a cowl hood. This version of the F-150 will also have a ground appearance package, distinct front signature lighting and upgraded taillamps. Some of the less obvious changes include the fact that the rear will be lowered by 2 inches, and it’ll get an upgraded two-speed automatic 4WD system.

Additionally, it’s worth noting, the F-150 Lobo will only be available in the SuperCrew configuration with a 5.5-foot bed. Exterior paint options include: Agate Black Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White and Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

Does it still do truck things?

Yes, the F-150 Lobo can still do truck things, but max towing and payload are less. It can tow up to 7,900 pounds and has a max payload of 1,450 pounds. But if you look at a regular SuperCrew with a 5.5-foot bed and V-8, you’ll see those numbers are 12,900 and 2,020 pounds, respectively.

How much the F-150 Lobo will cost

Ford said the Lobo package is priced at $4,695. The SuperCrew STX with the V-8 and 4WD is currently priced at $55,300, so that makes the price of the F-150 Lobo ring in at $59,995, including the $2,195 destination fees. You might gasp when Ford calls this affordable, but considering that the average price of a full-sized pickup truck in 2025 is about $66,000, this is less than that.

Available this fall

Though Ford doesn’t share a specific release date, it said it will be available this fall. That could be anywhere from September to November. What we do know is that it will be assembled in the Dearborn Truck Plant.

Our take on the F-150 Lobo

We loved the finishing touches and overall handling of the Ford Maverick Lobo, so it makes sense that Ford would try to capitalize on the success of that truck. If the F-150 Lobo takes off, we wonder what Ford will Lobo-ize next. Ranger? TBD.
