The new 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor receives several off-road upgrades for aimed at drivers who prefer getting off pavement more than driving on it.

This new trim level for the popular Ford Explorer adds in several features beneficial for off-road driving.
Key highlights include:
- 18″ wheels with all-terrain tires
- 1-inch increased ride height
- Improved approach and departure angles
- Torsen limited slip rear differential
- Two front and rear skid plates for underbody protection
- High-intensity LED off-road lights and easily accessible recovery hooks
- Tremor signature yellow accents
It comes standard with the 300 horsepower 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and will be available with 400 horsepower 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine found in its on-road performance cousin, the Ford Explorer ST.
Ford says the suspension has been “off-road tuned” and engineers told us at a media event it does make a difference with the hardware changes of unique springs and sway bars.

The Explorer Tremor will be available with BlueCruise 1.5, the latest version of their hands-free highway driving technology.
Also, it will feature the new Ford Digital Experience, as found in the new 2025 Ford Expedition along with the Ford Connectivity Package to allow for a seamless WiFi hot spot, Google Assistant, embedded Google Maps and more apps from the Google Play store with appropriate subscriptions.
There will more features like front massaging seats, 14-speaker B&0 audio system and a 360-degree camera for better visibility inside the cabin.
It will replace the Timberline name in the SUV lineup Ford tried in prior model years.

This is a smart move by Ford introducing an off-road variant of their popular Explorer model and should be a sought after model for customers looking for more capability from their daily driver.
