The 2026 GMC Hummer EV details are out and not only is it quicker, it is also more capable off-road with a new King Crab mode daring you to get stuck.
2026 GMC Hummer EV features
The two key upgrades for the 2026 GMC Hummer EV are both aimed at improving the performance of the truck and SUV.
First, the GMC Hummer EV Carbon Fiber Edition has been upgraded with a new 0-60 MPH launch in just 2.8 seconds. Very impressive for a vehicle that weighs as much as 9,640 pounds as a truck which is more than 3 tons.
This limited edition trim is only available on 3X trim levels and comes with an available 24-module battery to achieve the faster 0-60 time. Other models hit 0-60 in 3.0 or 3.3 seconds depending on the trim and battery.
The Carbon Fiber edition comes exclusive with Magnus Gray Matte Exterior paint and Velocity Ember interior theme. It also features the following items as standard equipment:
- Unique 22-inch carbon fiber black wheels
- All-Terrain tires
- Carbon fiber inserts in the mirror caps and skid plate
- Black approach shield
- Black emblems
- 22-inch spare carbon fiber black wheel (SUV only)

Second, the new King Crab mode, an over-the-air software upgrade available for all GMC Hummer EV owners, enables the rear wheels to turn much faster than the front wheels allowing more maneuverability when navigating tight spaces off-road. For example, navigating around trees, boulders or similar items. It is standard on 2X and 3X truck and SUV trims.
Lastly, the GMC Hummer EV will be offered in two new exterior colors: Coastal Dune and Auburn Matte. Inside there will be two new themes: Granite Drift and Stealth Eclipse.
The 2026 GMC Hummer EV will begin production later this summer at Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Detroit, Michigan. Pricing and GM-estimated range will be announced closer to launch.
Our take
The technology on the GMC Hummer EV is pretty damn impressive and it is shocking that something that weighs more than a 1-ton truck can move that fast. It is a fun toy for those who have the cash.
