Electric trucks seem to be the talker these days. In this livestream, Publisher Tim Esterdahl and Managing Editor Jill Ciminillo are talking about the impact on SEMA on the industry and if these aftermarket suppliers can survive a future of electric trucks. The discussion centers around whether aerodynamics and EV components will do well with aftermarket components and truck upgrades or if they’ll hurt range so much that people will stop modifying their trucks. Both Esterdahl and Ciminillo agree that the aftermarket suppliers will live on, but that there might be some changes that happen to accommodate for the EV-ness of the vehicles. Commenters on the livestream, however, seem to think they’ll modify their trucks as they’ve always done.
In the second half of the livestream, Ciminillo discusses her recent test of the 2023 Ford Expedition. Overall, she found it to be comfortable on a road trip though a little unwieldy in the city. However, it does fit in her Chicago garage, and she even shared a TikTok video of the parking job. Also of note: The third row of the Expedition is (gasp) comfortable.
Esterdahl and Ciminillo do weekly livestreams on YouTube, which are projected out to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. They alternate between Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. EST, so be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow them on social media for the upcoming live episode timing and topics.
