Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2024 XC40 vehicles. For this Volvo XC40 recall, a diagnostic error in the Central Electronic Module (CEM) software may cause the left rear turn signal indicator not to function on these Bosch equipped European vehicles.

A nonfunctioning exterior turn signal may not notify other drivers of a turning vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The CEM software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 28, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car’s number for this recall is R10256.

If you own a 2024 Volvo XC40, be sure to consult the NHTSA recalls portion of the website and type in the specific VIN of your vehicle to see if this current recall applies to your vehicle.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
