2024 Ford F-150 STX

The new 2024 Ford F-150 is hitting the market soon with more standard equipment and many changes in how to order one.

For the 2024 model, it will come in a regular, super cab (extended cab) and super crew (crew cab) configuration with a variety of bed lengths. The trim levels stay mostly the same except for the STX package which is now a trim level.

All trucks now come standard with a 12-inch infotainment screen, digital dash, LED headlights, receiver hitch and 36-gallon fuel tank except for the Powerboost hybrid with 30 gallons.

The 3.3-liter V6 engine is gone and the rest of the powertrains are carried over. All the engines are turbocharged except for the 5.0-liter V8 with cylinder deactivation. They are all mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

There is a new trick tailgate which opens in the middle and is an option on most trims.

With these changes, let’s go over each trim level to see what you get for your money.

Ford F-150 XL

The work truck trim for the F-150 will start at $36,570 and is also the only trim that is available with a regular cab.

For this year, a 5.0-liter V8 is standard for the regular cab model. Super cab and super crew get to choose either the 2.7-liter V6, the 5.0-liter V8 or the 3.5-liter V6.

Inside, it comes with a front bench seat, vinyl floor mats and cloth interior.

There is a XL High (103a) package for $1,000 that adds: 17” silver painted aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers, LED fog lamps, electronic rear-window defroster, rear privacy glass.

This new trim is now the base level trim for consumers. It starts at $43,895 and, Ford told us at the first look event, this is for the entry-level off-road road pickup buyer since it can be equipped with an FX-4 off-road and black appearance package.

It is only available in super cab with a 6.5’ bed or a super crew with a 5.5’ bed. And comes with bucket seats with green accented stitching.

Engine options are 5.0-liter V8 or the 2.7-liter V6.

The stylish factor comes in with the unique grille and blacked-out styling found throughout the truck with a $1,485 Black Appearance package.

For the FX-4 package, available only on super crew, 5.5′ bed, you get skid plates, an electronically locking rear differential, 18″ black painted aluminum wheels, 18″ A/T tires, dual exhaust, black running boards and new shocks. It adds $2,180 to the price.

Ford F-150 XLT

With the new STX trim, the XLT is not the lowest consumer trim anymore.

It starts at $47,620 and comes in either a super cab with 6.5’ bed, a super cab with 5.5’ bed or a super cab with a 6.5’ bed.

Engine choices include the 2.7-liter V6, 3.5-liter V6, 3.5-liter V6 hybrid (super crew only) or the 5.0-liter V8. It is worth noting the 3.5-liter V6 Powerboost aka hybrid now comes with an automatic discount making it the same upgrade price of $1,660 for the 3.5-liter V6.

There is a bench seat for all models until you add either the XLT mid package at $4,770 or the XLT high package at $9,240. Those packages also add creature comforts like heated seats, adjustable pedals and a 90-day trial of Bluecruise, a semi-autonomous driving assistance feature. Plus, you can get leather-trimmed seats if you opt for this package.

Now I recently built and priced a version to match our 2021 Ford F-150 Powerboost and found it was either $2,000 more or $7,000 more depending on if I wanted the panoramic sunroof.

Ford F-150 Tremor

A fan favorite, the F-150 Tremor is a great combination of style with orange accents and just the right amount of off-road equipment before you start talking about the Ford F-150 Raptor.

It only comes in super crew, 5.5” bed, 4WD and starts at $63,950.

Powering the Tremor is either the 3.5-liter V6 or the 5.0-liter V8. No hybrid is available.

There is one package option with the High 402A choice at a whopping $10,965 more and it basically adds the bed utility package (power and multi-access tailgate), mobile office package (foldable console shifter, 2kW pro-power onboard replacing 400 watt outlets) and tow/haul package with onboard scales, trailer brake controller, etc…

It also adds the heads-up display, a two-speed transfer case with 4WD Auto and a front axle with a Torsen differential (limited-slip).

Plus, heated seats, B&O sound system and many other creature comforts in that upgrade.

Ford F-150 Lariat

The Lariat trim starts adding more creature comforts and style. It starts at $64,995 and only comes in a super crew with the 5.5’ bed.

Powertrain options include the 3.5-liter V6, 5.0-liter V8 or the 3.5-liter V6 hybrid.

There is one package option with the high 502A which adds the B&O sound system, heads-up display, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, chrome running boards, second-row heated seats and the mobile office package. The price increase is $5,055 and Ford is currently offering a $2,000 discount if you opt for this package.

Inside, it is a bucket seat configuration with leather-trimmed seats. The first trim to offer leather standard.

Finally, there are 10 exterior color options to choose from. The most I’ve seen for any trim yet.

Ford F-150 King Ranch

Another fan favorite, the western-themed King Ranch is offered in the super crew, 5.5’ bed. It starts at $73,425 and is only available in 4WD.

Like the Lariat trim, the engine options are 3.5-liter V6, 5.0-liter V8 and 3.5-liter V6 hybrid.

There are six exterior color choices with the only interior color being the dark tan with lighter color seat bottoms and seat backs.

Unlike the other trims, there are no big package upgrades and the King Ranch comes with a host of standard equipment like power running boards, the B&O sound system, two-speed transfer case with 4WD Auto, power adjustable pedals, heads-up display and more.

If the country styling isn’t your thing in the King Ranch, but you want all the features, then the Platinum is your truck. It comes in the super crew, 5.5’ bed and starts at the same $73,425 like the King Ranch.

This trim features a very dark leather interior and comes with all the standard equipment I listed above for the King Ranch.

Under the hood is either the 3.5-liter V6 or the 3.5-liter V6 hybrid.

There are two equipment packages you can add that really change things.

First is the High 702A package which adds continuously controlled dampening, B&O stereo with 14 speakers, heads-up display and the twin panel moonroof for $6,540.

Now that’s great and all, but the big news is the Platinum Plus package. This is $10,975 and adds 22-inch premium painted wheels, fully quilted leather seats with Platinum badge, leather-wrapped instrument panel, unique quilted floor mats, Platinum hood lettering, a Platinum VIN badge on console, a satin single exhaust pipe and a standard 3.5-liter V6 Powerboost with 7.2kW of onboard power.

Ford F-150 Raptor

The one, the only Ford F-150 Raptor doesn’t feature many changes for the 2024 model year. It is available in a super crew, 5.5’ bed and starts at $77,980.

The big news for the truck is Fox Dual Live Valve shocks. These shocks have “position sensitive compression control standard, new continuously variable rebound controls” according to Ford which should allow you to drive faster by smoothing out the suspension.

There are two packages with the first being the Raptor 37 802A package which adds what it says it does 37” tires, bead-lock wheels, graphics, Dual Live Valve shocks and the modular bumper.

Then, there is the Raptor R package 803A with the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 adding $31,575 to the price. This package includes graphics, Recaro seats, the Dual Live Valve shocks and some more creature comforts.

You can opt to remove the graphics on both packages.

The bottom line

The 2024 Ford F-150 removed a lot of the build and price options to make things easy for customers to shop for the truck. However, there is still enough trims and packages to build an F-150 to your exact needs.
