With throwback-heritage designs, a striking color scheme and unique styling cues, the Ram “Traveller” truck was specifically designed for eight-time Grammy-winning artist Chris Stapleton.
The Ram “Traveller” truck borrows its name from Stapleton’s breakout record and combines his throwback style and music onstage with a Ram 2500 to create a one-of-a-kind pickup truck.
What is the Ram “Traveller”?
Simply put, it is a combination of a 1970s and 1980s truck styling with the Ram 2500 heavy duty truck.
On the exterior, the look was derived from Stapleton’s favorite 1979 Ram Palomino truck with a color scheme of Linen Cream, Radar Red, Bison Brown and Cashmere. The iconic striped graphics found on the Palomino were adapted for the 2500 design.
Retro-inspired Turbo Fin 18-inch wheels bring in the 1980s flavor with fully painted, deep-dished machined-faced wheel and a bright chrome center cap. There are also a unique “Traveller” badges with Ram’s 1980s fonts.
Speaking of unique, the hood ornament is a three-dimensional chrome Ram’s head.
Inside, the truck continues using Stapleton’s personal design style mixing in buffalo plaid flannel material, an identical material as the jacket worn by the artist on his debut album, with more unique touches. Walnut Burl wood appears throughout the cabin along with tailored cloth wrapped seats. The speaker grille design draws inspiration from the guitar amps. Plus, there is a custom front-row bench seat.
Finally, the truck features a Chris Stapleton signature inlaid into the wood instrument panel.
This truck was unveiled on November 7, 2022, as part of the exhibit Chris Stapleton: Since 1978 at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The bottom line
What’s not to love with this custom Ram “Traveller” truck? One can only wish they were popular enough to have a truck built for them.
