As Stellantis seeks to regain lost profits, they will build a new full-size Ram SUV starting in 2028 in Michigan. This kind of vehicle is a profit generator for other automakers.
New Full-Size Ram SUV Confirmed
Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa told a group of Wall Street analysts this SUV will give Ram a “much more comprehensive product range” during an October 30, 2025 briefing.
The plan is for the full-size, likely body-on-frame SUV, to come out around the same time as a new midsize Ram truck.
This SUV was announced as part of a $13 billion investment in the U.S. over the next four years, although it wasn’t initially stated which brand would have it.
Currently, Jeep has the full-size SUV with the redesigned and renamed 2026 Jeep Wagoneer which just dropped the “Grand” part of its name and consolidated its offerings.
This new SUV will be built at the Warren, Michigan truck plant alongside the Wagoneer and will be offered in a gasoline and range-extended hybrid much like the Wagoneer. This means it will have the new 3.0-liter Hurricane inline 6 engine and the EREV powertrain with the 3.6-liter V6 acting as a generator.
Details on the rest of the vehicle are sparse.
