Aiming to amp up the sound, two new Ram RHO MagnaFlow exhaust options have been unveiled for the Hurricane engine bringing a deeper rumble to the sport truck.

The collaboration between MagnaFlow and Ram will be the brand’s first accessories through the Mopar Direct Connection Affiliated Accessories Program.

“Our customers told us they wanted more attitude from the Ram 1500 RHO, and we’re here to
give it to them,” said Tim Kuniskis, CEO, Ram brand. “Performance isn’t just about horsepower
and torque, it’s about the full sensory experience. With our new MagnaFlow exhaust options,
we’re handing drivers the volume knob and letting them crank it to eleven.”

The first system, exclusively installed on our long-term 2025 Ram 1500 RHO review truck, features expertly tuned upgrades from the well-known exhaust manufacturer.

It features:

  • Balanced exhaust note during normal driving; full tone under acceleration
  • Dual five-inch black chrome tips
  • Three-inch diameter mandrel-bent tubing
  • Cat-back design with full stainless-steal construction
  • MagnaFlow Tru-X crossover pipe, commonly referred to as an X pipe
  • Dual muffler design
  • Valve-integrated mid pipes
  • MagnaFlow No Drone Technology (NDT) mid-pipe chamber
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects and 1 Year Warranty on Black Finish Exhaust tips, both provided by MagnaFlow.

This exclusive exhaust install took place on our long-distance camping trip to Michigan and was a partnership between Ram Trucks and Pickup Truck Plus SUV Talk.

You can watch our video showcasing the exhaust, what it looks like in person and, most importantly what it sounds like in different drive modes. Then, compare it with this video with the stock exhaust setup.

I can confirm, the exhaust system is a great upgrade with no drone and adds a much needed visceral feeling to driving the truck without being overbearing at say 5 am when you are trying to not wake up the neighborhood.

Pricing for the exhaust system is $2,089.

The other performance exhaust system is a more extensive system giving owners more control over the exhaust valves to create a more unique exhaust note.

It features:

  • Six unique exhaust sound combinations, ranging from sporty to pissed-off
  • Dual 5-inch black chrome tips
  • Three-inch diameter mandrel-bent tubing
  • Cat-back design with full stainless-steal construction
  • MagnaFlow Tru-X crossover pipe, (X pipe)
  • Race-bred v-band clamps for easy and reliable module connections
  • Three swappable modules, increasing in sound: STREET, SPEQ, and COMP
  • Two swappable mid-pipe modules, including standard valve-integrated pipes and
  • valve delete pipes
  • MagnaFlow No Drone Technology (NDT) mid-pipe chamber
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects and 1 Year Warranty on Black Finish Exhaust tips, both provided by MagnaFlow.

Pricing for this system is $3,099.

Why Go with MagnaFlow and Mopar Direct Connect?

There are many aftermarket exhaust companies on the market, so why go with MagnaFlow and Mopar’s Direct Connection?

Over the years, I’ve visited with many of the big name aftermarket companies and I’ll be biased here, but whenever you get an aftermarket company working directly with the manufacturer that’s a key benefit others simply can’t provide.

Plus, both systems use the same three-inch mandrel-bent stainless-steel construction, MagnaFlow No Drone Technology (NDT) passive noise cancellation, and a dual exit design with those aggressive with five-inch black chrome tips.

This should result in better engineered parts with Ram working with MagnaFlow and better availability of replacement parts in case something were to happen to the system.

As my wife once told me, "Trucks are supposed to be loud."

It is an improvement on the sound but if there was any drone on the highway it would be a pass for me.
If there’s no drone on the highway I’d definitely want to compare in person.
I wonder if this will be offered on the limited as an option eventually? Apologies if you covered that in the video clip.

As far as I know a Mopar option after purchase.

Got to get some sound outside of the truck on revving and accelerating away. From what I could hear on the inside it sounds really buzzy and lots of drone. Is this different that what TRD John just did? I saw he had a video about new exhaust but I wasn't sure if his was just aftermarket.

His was just aftermarket with AWE.

I’ll be interested to see if you find it drones when you are towing your trailer.
I’ve passed trucks on the highway that drone quite loud when towing (a lot of them upgraded exhausts on diesels). I’m sure yours won’t be like that.
Full disclosure, I have some tinnitus in my left ear probably from hunting back in the day so too much drone is a no no for me. lol

Agreed. I'd want nothing to do with loud exhaust anymore. More annoying than anything.

I gotta say that given how off road tires drone, I don't think I'd notice the exhaust.

Lol, it’s probably sacrilege but I pick my all terrain (all weather) tires partially on noise level or lack of it. I only do light off-road so I don’t need super aggressive treads.

I’ll be looking at new tires next summer/fall likely so I’ll be looking at recent ratings. I had Nokian all weather tires on my last truck. Their noise level was quite acceptable.

What tires are you running right now?
