The 2026 Nissan Frontier updates are out and it will include a new dark armor and Roush package and a new drive mode selector.
That Frontier PRO-4X R aka Roush edition is the BIG news here.
Fresh Looks and New Packages

Nissan builds on the Frontier’s recent redesign with new style and features for 2026. A new Dark Armor package gives the SV grade a stealthier look, with 17-inch black alloy wheels, darkened grille and trim, and black interior accents. A new paint option, Citrus Strike, joins the lineup for PRO-X and PRO-4X grades, adding a vibrant alternative to last year’s Afterburn Orange.
Added Functionality and Comfort

The 2026 Frontier gains a drive mode selector with five settings – Rock, Sand, On-Road, Mud, and Hill Descent Control – to tailor performance to conditions. The PRO trims now include heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and remote engine start as standard. SV and PRO trims also receive an eight-way power driver’s seat, while S and SV add LED headlights. An All-Weather package bundles additional comforts like dual-zone climate control for SV buyers.
Roush PRO-4X R: Off-Road Exclusive

Nissan teams with Roush Performance to offer an exclusive Frontier PRO-4X R build. Highlights include a Roush x Öhlins 2.0 Off-Road Suspension System with a 2-inch lift, coilover shocks with reservoirs, and upgraded control arms. The package adds titanium-finished 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, skid plate, grille inserts, Lava Red tow hooks, and Roush badging. Interior details include embroidered headrests. Parts are installed and sold by Roush, not Nissan.
It starts at $47,960.
Power, Capability, and Confidence

Under the hood, the 2026 Frontier continues with a 310-hp, 3.8-liter V6 paired with a 9-speed automatic. All trims include Active Brake Limited Slip, while the PRO-4X adds an electronic locking differential for greater off-road traction. Frontier’s towing capacity reaches 7,150 pounds, with Trailer Sway Control standard on SV and PRO models.
Tech and Safety Across the Lineup

Every Frontier comes equipped with driver assistance and safety tech such as Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Parking Sensors, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Cruise Control. Connectivity includes a standard 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, while SV and PRO trims offer a 12.3-inch display and wireless smartphone integration.
The 2026 Nissan Frontier will be available in S, SV, PRO-X, and PRO-4X grades, with King Cab or Crew Cab configurations and 5- or 6-foot beds. Pricing starts at $32,150, with availability at dealerships later this summer.
