New Wave Maker color for 2026 Toyota TRD Pro models

Wave Maker, a bold blue, is the exclusive color for the 2026 Toyota TRD Pro lineup including 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia.

Wave Maker is the 11th unique color introduced as part of the TRD Pro series since the program began in 2015 with the debut of Inferno. The color was developed by Toyota’s CALTY Design Research team and is intended to evoke a sense of exploration and extreme environments.

“We were inspired by untapped areas of adventure, including harsh terrain and even space,” said Benjamin Jimenez, General Manager at CALTY’s Ann Arbor facility. “Wave Maker expresses an elemental character, reminiscent of glacial depths and unexplored frontiers.”

Previous TRD Pro colors have drawn from natural themes, including recent editions like Terra and Mudbath. Wave Maker marks a departure from those earth tones, offering a more vibrant and futuristic appearance.

The TRD Pro models are all designed for more aggressive, high-speed off-road driving. They feature a variety of add ons from factory like FOX shocks, TRD sway bars, skid plates, suspension lifts, additional wheel travel, Falken tires, etc… They also have exclusive TRD Pro badging on the exterior and interior.

Toyota confirmed that 2026 TRD Pro models featuring Wave Maker will begin arriving at U.S. dealerships in fall 2025.

Our take

Another year, another new color for the TRD Pro lineup. While critics will bemoan the “that’s all you got for an update,” others have fun with these very stand-out colors from a very conservative automotive company. Frankly, it is much better than yet another dull tan in my view.
