Four years into its lifecycle, the compact crossover from Toyota gets a refresh. Here’s a quick look at some of what’s new on the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross.
2026 Toyota Corolla Cross design refresh
Perhaps the most noticeable change to the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross will be to the exterior design. The hybrid models get a drastically different grille treatment, resembling the new design we see on the Toyota Camry. The gas model also gets a new grille treatment, but it’s not as dramatic of a change. But the two very different grilles will set these models apart.
On the inside, while the standard infotainment screen is 8 inches, you now have an available 10.5-inch screen. The console area also gets refreshed with more usable space.
A few other new items of note include a Portobello interior color on the XLE trim, new wheel designs and available Calvary Blue paint with a black roof. The Cold Weather Package with the heated steering wheel and front seats is also now standard on the XLE AWD and Hybrid XSE trims.

What’s not new
The powertrains are a carryover from the previous model year. The gas models are equipped with the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 169 horsepower, and the hybrid uses this same engine in addition to three electric motors for a combined output of 196 horsepower. Both are mated to a continuously variable transmission.
Front-wheel drive is standard on the gas model, with all-wheel drive being available. AWD is standard on the hybrid.
The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross also still has a lot of standard safety and is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This means features like adaptive cruise control and lane trace assist, which are often options on other entry-level SUVs, are standard fare here.
Made in America
With the onslaught of President Trump’s tariffs, it’s worth noting the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross is built in Huntsville, Ala. However, it is unclear how many parts are manufactured outside of the U.S., so it is TBD how much this vehicle will be affected by the tariffs.
Toyota has said pricing will be announced closer to launch, which is slated to happen “later this year.”
Our take on the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross
We’ve driven both the gas and hybrid models of the Toyota Corolla Cross, and we generally like them – even if they are nothing special. They have been well equipped and well priced, and we hope that continues into 2026.
