Did you know GM has been selling trucks in the Middle East for years? They are launching a special Chevy Silverado Chafar edition for those buyers.

This uniquely styled Chevy Silverado 1500 showcases cultural items from the Middle East culture.

What does Chafar mean?
The word Chafar translates into honor, nobility or distinction for the English language. Using it as a term of distinction notes where Chevy sees this truck in their Middle East lineup.
“When you say Chafar, you’re not just referring to a Chevrolet vehicle; you’re speaking to a legacy that runs deep across this region,” said Furrukh Jawaid, Chief Marketing Officer of General Motors Africa and Middle East said in a press release. “The Chafar Edition is Chevrolet’s way of celebrating the trust we’ve built with the people of the GCC and their unwavering loyalty over the years.”
The GCC is “a regional, intergovernmental, political, and economic union of six Arab states bordering the Persian Gulf: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates,” according to Google.
The truck is on sale now at Chevrolet dealerships in those regions.
In Saudi Arabia, the Chafar edition has an starting price range of Saudi Riyal (SAR) 182,500 or $48,651 in U.S. dollars.
Our take
While many people mistakenly think GM, Ford and Stellantis don’t sell trucks globally, they actually do just not at the same volume in the U.S.
