Firestone Ride-Rite Air Bag

Have you ever thought about adding a Firestone Ride-Rite air bag setup on your truck? Publisher Tim Esterdahl reached out to Firestone to get a kit with the Air Command compressor and computer as well. Watch this video as he walks you through the install, how it works, price and towing experience with the Firestone air bag system.

Like SleepNumber for pickup trucks

While you can get an airbag setup that you air up manually with your own compressor, Esterdahl opted to upgrade to an on-board compressor and computer, which can handle this automatically. When Esterdahl opened his Firestone app to raise and lower his truck with his phone, I couldn’t help but be reminded of my SleepNumber bed. And while that may seem silly, an air ride suspension enhancement system is doing the same thing, but for ride quality while towing heavy loads. Paired with his Weigh-Safe hitch setup Esterdahl’s truck is going to be a towing boss.

Added bonus: The on-board compressor comes with an auxiliary outlet and hose so you can use the compressor to air up bike tires, floats for the lake and more.

It looks like the cost for a setup like this is about $1,500 for the airbag kit and compressor kit combined. This does not include labor for install, but that isn’t too difficult and depending on your experience and how closely you watch this install video you may be able to install this kit yourself.
