The Ford Bronco Everglades just might be the coolest off-road version of the rig, but you can’t get one, and you may never be able to get one again, even if you are a hardcore, life-long Ford truck owner in Florida.
Building off a stock Ford Bronco, the Everglades model came out in 2022 and was aimed at those who want to go through water or be gone for days on the trail. It is now discounted for the 2023 model year.
What is the Ford Bronco Everglades?
The Everglades adds a factory-installed snorkel and integrated 10,000-pound ZEON 10-S WARN winch as well as the Sasquatch package with 35-inch tires.
The snorkel can be turned around in various weather conditions, rain or snow, and also is handy for getting clean air into the engine without the dust as found on a trail drive. Along with the larger tires, the Bronco Everglades can water ford up to 36.4 inches.
It also comes with a protective safari bar, rock rails and the same steel bash plates found on Black Diamond and Badlands Bronco models. A unique Carbonized Gray grille with gloss black Bronco lettering enhances its functional appearance.
Finally, there are exterior graphics and squared wheel arches to further differentiate it from other Bronco models.
Ford Bronco Everglades discontinued
While driving the Bronco Everglades around for a week, I learned it wasn’t available to be ordered any longer from my friends at All Terrain Nation.
I asked Ford and got this response from Mike Levine, Ford North America Product Communications Director:
“Bronco and Ranger are both built at Michigan Assembly Plant. As we are preparing for the launch of the all-new Ranger, we’ve made some temporary manufacturing changes to maximize commonality on the assembly line to ensure a quality launch for the new Ranger while getting Broncos to existing reservation and order holders. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily not offer the Everglades series for the remainder of the 23MY. Customers can check existing dealer stock to see if there’s a Bronco configuration available they are not able to order.”
On Ford’s media website, the Bronco Everglades driving footage video has been marked “private” as well.
The bottom line
The Ford Bronco Everglades discontinued news is quite interesting, considering how much growth there has been in the off-road adventure area of the market. Is this a sign of saturation for that segment or is Ford just holding up production to facilitate more Ranger trucks being built? It could be a bit of both, and I wouldn’t expect to see a 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades anytime soon.
