Ram 1500 REV

Just hours ahead of the Super Bowl, official photos of the Ram 1500 REV electric truck have been revealed, and customers can place a deposit today.

The Ram 1500 REV is the brand’s fully electric truck using the large STLA platform, which is expected to house a large battery with impressive performance and range mirroring or exceeding competitors from Ford and General Motors.

Ram 1500 REV, what we know

These final production pictures reveal a truck using a combination of the Ram Revolution Concept and a Ram 1500.

All of the pictures show a crew cab truck with a 5-foot, 6-inch bed with a front charging port on the driver’s side fender.

The front end uses some of the concept styling giving it an aggressive and aerodynamic design, wrapping into the rear with taillights that extend on the tailgate.

Inside, the futuristic interior design with the chromatic glass roof, foldable steering wheel and removable touchscreens are gone with a Ram 1500 interior design replacing these items. The only change versus the stock Ram interior is the inclusion of the front passenger screen Stellantis has been rolling out on other products like the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Range, price, specs?

Unfortunately, there are no official details on range, price and overall specifications. Those details will be coming out later this year or next since it is still 2 years away from going into full production.

Ram expects to launch this truck in quarter 4 of 2024, and you can reserve a spot in line with a $100 refundable deposit on RamRev.com today.

The bottom line

The production version of the Ram 1500 REV looks really nice, and they did a great job combining some of the concept vehicle styling with a more realistic model. Borrowing ideas from other vehicles like the passenger screen, utilizing their highly regarded infotainment system and screen as well as keeping useful things like the Ram Box should be a hit with consumers. We are, however, slightly disappointed that some of the interesting features on the concept, like the midgate, front pass-through and extendable bed don’t appear to be making into production.

Now, we just have to hope the price point isn’t so absurd they price themselves out of reach of most consumers.

  • You know, I’m all for EV cars and SUVs; however, when it comes to trucks I’d rather have a hybrid. I feel like hybrid is where truck market should live. Give me a battery large enough for 50 miles EV only travel, to handle nearly all day to day driving, and full on convenience and confidence of ICE for those long hauls or heavy power draining loads. Sorry EV only critics. Just how I see it.
