While you don’t really want to mess with perfection, Ram is adding a TRX Havoc Edition for the 2023 model year. This new edition adds a Baja Yellow exterior paint as well as some other options to customize this already special truck.
TRX refresher
In case you forgot, the Ram TRX was all-new for the 2021 model year and it was effectively dubbed the Raptor Fighter with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8 engine that delivers 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Not even the new Ford F-150 Raptor R bests those numbers.
While the TRX is based off the Ram Rebel, it has a frame that is 75% different. You also have a new independent front suspension and an upgraded rear 5-link suspension as well as Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks, five skid plates, impressive off-road specs and stock 35-inch wheels – among many other cool things.
TRX Havoc
So, rather than making changes two years into its lifecycle, the TRX gets a new edition: Havoc. In addition the eye-catching yellow paint, you’ll see new graphics, technology and appearance items that customize the truck straight from the factory.
The TRX Havoc Edition enhances the Level 2 Equipment Group, and includes the following:
- 18-inch all-black bead-lock-capable wheels
- Dual-pane panoramic sunroof
- Spray-in bedliner
- Cargo tie-downs
- Bed step
- LED cab-mounted brake lights
- Prowler Yellow accent stitching
- Unique carbon fiber accents
- Leather-and-carbon-fiber flat-bottom steering wheel
- Unique center console badge
- Head-up display
- Driver’s screen that features a Baja Yellow TRX
The Ram 1500 TRX Havoc Edition will have a starting price of $106,445, including destination and will be available in the first quarter of 2023.
The bottom line
The base price for the Ram TRX is $86,450, so you’re looking at a $20k jump to get the TRX Havoc Edition. But keep in mind, this model is essentially the whistles-and-bells edition with the pricey Level 2 package ($10,995) added to the bottom line – in addition to the Havoc enhancements and price of exclusivity.
Since we don’t see a long life ahead for the Hemi engine or the TRX, we think any model will be a future collector’s item, but one with a rare yellow is even more collectible.
