RAM 1500 Limited Elite Edition

If you’re new here, you should know that for the purpose of in-depth reviews and a decent tax break, Publisher Tim Esterdahl trades his personal truck each winter for a new model. The big question around here this time of year is which truck Esterdahl will buy next? At a recent auto show he got to check out the 2023 RAM 1500 Limited Elite Edition, and I think he looks a little starstruck, don’t you?

2023 RAM 1500 Limited Elite Edition

It’s no secret I love Ram trucks. When I was shopping for something practical for our lifestyle, I wanted to go just above a base model, but stay away from the fancy interiors that would make me nervous to use the truck. When comparing truck brands, Ram’s interior was several steps above the rest, even on the lower trim packages. Now they’ve come out with a trim package that outdoes even their most luxurious packages from years past. This Ram 1500 Limited Elite Edition is bonkers fancy. And while I might not choose it for my farm truck, I’d sure love to spend some time driving this beauty around!

A few things to note about the 2023 RAM 1500 Limited Elite Edition: It has a jeweled shifter knob, beautiful metal and wood accents throughout, quilted leather seats, heated-and-cooled seats (front and back,) a frameless digital drivers display, Limited badging, a light in the tailgate that shines down on the hitch, adjustable metal pedals, a massive infotainment screen and multidirectional headlights.

Let’s take a walk around this truck

In the video below Esterdahl highlights each of the unique features of this truck and some of the options Ram includes on many of its trucks that just make life easier, like the multi-function tailgate and the Ram boxes. He also talks about the price and fuel economy.

What do you think of this new trim package? Is it over-the-top or just right?

  • Why haven’t we seen any availability on the RAM 1500 Limited Elite??

  • I think you should wait to get a 24 RAM 1500 with the Hurricane engine, hopefully full hybrid. That being said I am interested in how the Ram 1500 coil/air rear suspension rides and performs for towing/hauling heavy loads – everyone says it is the best suspension with an empty load but I have heard some people say the leaf springs on the F150 do better when the truck is pulling/carrying a load. I am also curious about the cargo boxes. I heard the lids warp and discolor with age, and that it is hard to find tunneau covers that are compatible with the cargo boxes. But I am most curious about the hybrid Hurricane engine coming in 24.
