In this video, Publisher Tim Esterdahl spends some time behind the wheel of the 2022 Mazda CX-9. After almost three years of CX-5 ownership, he’s pretty familiar with the brand, but it looks like Mazda really stepped things up on this Signature trim.
Things to love about the CX-9
Man, those look like some super premium seats, especially for a second-row. Luxury-vehicle-like if I do say so myself. And check out that beautiful stitching and ventilation, even in the second drow. Another big win for me are the window screens for the second row. Dude. How often do you see a center console with storage in the second row, just like the front seat?
It looks like Esterdahl is really loving these features as well as the two-tone interior, plus carbon fiber and real wood accents.
Something else Esterdahl points out that I really like is you get more horsepower and torque with 93 octane gas, but it isn’t required. This vehicle can still run on 87 octane gas. So many newer vehicles are requiring premium gas, and I find it really hard to get on board with that when the prices are so high right now.
What is the 2022 Mazda CX-9 Signature trim?
The Signature is Mazda’s new top trim level for the CX-9. It’s basically a Grand Touring with heated second-row seats and a center console. Plus you get Nappa leather in the first and second row, which is available in Parchment (white) or a Chestnut brown color. In the video you’ll see the beautiful Rosewood trim and 20-inch wheels plus a unique grille and exhaust pipes.
