If you like the performance features and appearance of the Ram TRX, but don’t like the hefty price tag, Ram is bringing some of the cooler TRX features down into less-expensive 1500 trims, and you can now get G/T performance on the Laramie and Rebel starting at around $57k.
While they won’t include the 702-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 engine, both Ram G/T performance trims will get the 5.7-liter V-8 engine that delivers 395 horsepower. Another thing they’ll get that will make Ram fans happy: a console-mounted performance shifter. You know, instead of the dial shifter.
Other things you’ll see on these models include:
- Ram G/T performance hood and body decals
- Mopar factory-installed cold-end exhaust and cold-air intake
- Performance pages that include timers, g-force meters and engine information
- Paddle shifters
- Metal pedal kit
- G/T logos on the sport bucket seats
- Mopar all-weather floor mats
Both the Laramie and Rebel G/T will only be available in the Crew Cab configuration, and their starting prices will be $57,175 and $57,070, respectively, including the destination fees.
The bottom line on Ram G/T performance trims
We don’t have much other information, and we haven’t even seen photos of the interior yet. But one thing’s for sure, the Laramie and Rebel G/T are much more cost effective than a TRX, and they still have an aura of cool to them.
The better news, these models will be available in the third quarter of 2021, so we should see them in dealers no later than September.
