In a wild story out of Bosnia, an impatient Tesla fan transformed a Ford Raptor into a Cybertruck, went for a drive and then realized the truck was actually illegal.
The story from Reuters is a team of IT specialists and engineers at Igor Krezic’s Stark Solutions tore down a Raptor into small parts and then rebuilt it to resemble the Tesla’s prototype truck.
Once completed, they drove through the streets of the southern town of Mostar drawing a lot of attention according to Mario Coric, the company manager telling to Reuters.
Homemade Tesla Cybertruck in Bosnia. Photo credit @268_others Instagram“Everybody was watching and half of them thought we made a tank, because people don’t know what the Cybertruck is. One girl even stopped and asked if this is the place where they are producing Tesla Cybertruck,” Coric said.
This photo from Tesla’s staged tug of war really shows how much larger the Cybertruck is versus the half-ton pickup.Though they tried to match the Cybertruck exactly, albeit with a gasoline engine, not an EV, their version is smaller than the prototype Elon Musk unveiled. That prototype is massive and looks like a giant next to the F-150.
The kicker to the entire story, and something critics have pointed out, is the difficulty in registering the homemade Cybertruck in order to get plates and make it legal. It turns out in Bosnia, and most countries throughout the world, the sharp edges of the design are banned.
The reasoning? Pedestrian safety is the main one with the head receiving significant damage from an accident.
