Taking the iconic Land Rover Defender to new heights, Fusion Motor Company, best known for its lineup of Gone in 60 Seconds “Eleanor” Mustangs, is applying their skills to the off-road SUV. Swapping out the stock engine for the Corvette Stingray’s LS3 6.2L V8 and adding numerous touches, we are smitten.
The LS3 motor produces 430 HP and is a 122 HP improvement over the Defender’s original 3.9L engine. This new engine is mated to a GM 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission and Fusion kept the Defender’s LT230 full-time transfer case as part of its all-wheel-drive system intact.
Fusion also chose to keep to the 18-inch Sawtooth Gloss Black alloy wheels which were stock from factory. These wheels are wrapped with LT285/65/R18 Nitto Ridge Grapper all terrains tires. Helping improve the ride is a set of Fox 2.3″ monotone shocks mounted on the tubular front shock turrets.
Other exterior enhancements include a mesh two-tone satin/gloss black front grille, surround panels for the Vision X 7-inch Xenon LED projector headlights, sport-side fenders, grille vents and heavy-duty bumpers. There is also a sunroof and tint for all the windows.
Matching the exterior, the interior uses a black suede, ebony and tan leather combination for all seven seats. There is also a 1000-watt Pioneer infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. If you are looking for an ultimate off-road machine for you and all your friends, Fusion is taking reservations.
