2017 Jeep Renegade Dash Indicator Light Recall

Jeep is recalling 2017 Jeep Renegade SUVs over a malfunction on dash indicator lights. These lights may illuminate at incorrect times causing confusion on when a true malfunction occurs.

NHTSA Campaign Number 17V485000 says:

Summary
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017 Jeep Renegade vehicles. Due to a software
issue, multiple malfunction indicator lamps may illuminate on the instrument panel when no malfunction exists. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, “Control and Displays.”

Remedy
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the Instrument Panel Control software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin September 16, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is T50.
