Today, GMC shared a glimpse of the refreshed 2025 Yukon, the brand’s flagship nameplate. The 2025 Yukon will be the next GMC SUV launch following the all-new Acadia hitting dealerships this spring.

2025 GMC Yukon AT4 expectations

Let’s start with the image. It features the 2025 GMC Yukon AT4, its refreshed front fascia, updated headlight, and redesigned grille.

That’s not all the changes.

Like the new 2024 Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban, there will be a big change under the hood with the updated LZ0 Duramax diesel.

I’d expect the AT4 trim will finally get this engine thanks to the redesign allowing them to safely run the cooling lines.

This engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and delivers 305 horsepower (a 10% increase over prior-gen diesel), and 495 pound-feet (a 7.6% increase).

It is renowned for its fuel economy I covered with our 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 long-term review truck.

Other features for the AT4 will likely include those found in the Sierra:

  • 2-inch factory suspension lift
  • standard 4WD with a two-speed transfer case
  • locking rear differential
  • skid plates
  • Rancho monotube shocks
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Traction Select System
  • exclusive exterior and interior trim
  • red vertical recovery hooks

It will also be offered in a more aggressive tire and wheel package with 18-inch Duratrac or an optional 20-inch.

Also, there will be updated materials and features like the remote camera system through the GMC app like the Tahoe.

The AT4 trim should feature the same equipment GM offers in other vehicles.

The bottom line

The 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 continues to expand GM’s offerings into the premium off-road SUV space. This area of the market has become very popular with many customers wanting a more robust SUV with off-road looks.

We should see this new SUV in the coming months with the new model coming to dealers in the fall of 2024.
