2023 GMC Yukon

General Motor’s full-size premium SUV made quite the splash with the 2021 model year featuring sharp new styling, all new interior, technology, a diesel engine option and more. Now the 2023 GMC Yukon is going to take it up a notch with even more premium features, new technology and more. The 2023 GMC Yukon gets a variety of small, but important changes for the new model year.

Before we dig in, it’s worth noting: The 2023 model will not get the new LZ0 3.0-liter Duramax Diesel. Instead, it will carry on with the LM2 3.0-liter Duramax Diesel.

2023 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SLE, SLT and Denali changes

For the 2023 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, you’re looking at new exterior color choices, new wheels and one new technology feature.

New exterior colors include Titanium Rush Metallic, Frosted Pine Metallic, Volcanic Red Tintcoat and Sterling Metallic. GMC says these colors will be offered at an extra cost.

For the SLE, SlT and Denali trims, there is a new option for 22-inch wheels that are polished aluminum and ultra-bright machined.

Finally, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist is available on Denali arriving late in the model year. This system detects parking spots while your vehicle is moving forward below 18 MPH. The SUV will beep and give you instructions for parking, either a parallel or perpendicular, when it detects a spot available. Once you put the vehicle in reverse, it will automatically park itself.

2023 Denali Ultimate

For the highest trim, the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate, GM is removing the 2WD option and the Denali Ultimate will only be available in 4WD.

It also will get the Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, and it is coming out late in the model year. However, unlike the Denali trim, this will be a standard feature.

Finally, it will also get the new exterior colors mentioned above.

The bottom line

While the 2023 GMC Yukon isn’t a completely new model, the changes in the color options and the new wheels are good updates. Plus, the Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist is a great feature since this is a full-size SUV and its length can make parking a challenge.
