Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2026 Ram ProMaster vehicles. The rear bench may have only two of four seat legs installed. An incomplete seat may fail to properly restrain an occupant during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 207, “Seating Systems.”

Affected VINs should be searchable now at the NHTSA website.

Here is the relevant information from the NHTSA Recall notice:

NHTSA ID Number: 26V280

Manufacturer: Braun Corporation

Components: SEATS

Potential Number of Units Affected: 14

Estimated percentage with defect: 100%

Descriptive Information:

The rear aftermarket bench seat in impacted vehicles does not comply with FMVSS 207 regulations. The seat is required to be installed with four legs to meet FMVSS 207, but the affected vehicles were shipped with only two legs.

Description of defect or noncompliance:

The rear aftermarket bench seat in impacted vehicles does not comply with FMVSS 207 regulations. The seat is required to be installed with four legs to meet FMVSS 207, but the affected vehicles were shipped with only two legs.

Description of the cause:

The affected seats require four legs per seat to meet FMVSS 207 compliance; however, only two legs were installed. Seat components are supplied separately and require in-house assembly. Although the bill of materials (BOM) correctly specifies four legs, the assembly instructions for this new product line were not properly followed, resulting in incomplete installation of the seat legs.

Identification of any warning that can occur:

No warning. Seat does not meet FMVSS 207 compliance.
