Pickup Truck + SUV Talk editor/owner Tim Esterdahl and other auto journalists offer guided tours of the New York International Auto Show.
The New York International Auto Show is almost here! This show is one of the top events for the industry, and it’s huge, so your best bet to fully experience it is under the wing of someone who knows the show, and the industry, inside and out. Maybe someone like PUTT owner, publisher, and editor-in-chief Tim Esterdahl?
On these unique, in-depth guided tours of the show, a small, select group of people will walk the show floor with Tim, seeing the show from his perspective, with his expertise.
“Trucks in the big city? Yup, let’s talk about that and everything else while I give you an inside look at the automotive world,” Tim promises. “Let me show you the truck world of the show in a way that no one else can”
The tours are available as a VIP experience, complete with behind-the-scenes access and perks like front-of-line privileges for test drives and exclusive merch. For a more modest budget, general tours offer the same expert-guided look at the show floor, without some of those higher-end treats included. Of course, you’ll also have the opportunity to pick Tim’s brain and maybe ask him a few questions you’ve always wanted to ask.
Here’s a little peek at what the tours will include, in both regular and VIP versions:
- Behind the scenes access to the show with no crowds, or early access before the show gets busy
- Vehicles are mostly unlocked and accessible on April 1 and 2, so they can go inside, see the tech, sit in the seats and feel the upholstery; most are not open on public days
- Access to concept cars on April 1 and 2; many are not on display during public days!
- Shorter lines for ride and drives: guided tours are either before the show opens to the public or before opening on public days
VIP Tours add even more:
- A much smaller group: limited to 16
- A tour of the ultra luxury, supercars, exotics and hyper cars of Manhattan Motor Cars: Bugatti, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Rimac to name a few. These tours go into the exhibit for a personal look at the collection; this exhibit is roped off to the public
- Front of the line access to rides and drives: A wristband gets you to the front of the line for Camp Jeep, Bronco Off-Roadeo, Hyundai’s ride and drive, the EV Test Track and more
- Wednesday VIP guests will also get a pair of general admission tickets to return to the show on another day to experience the rides and drives since they will close at 6PM that day, about the time the tour ends
- A gift bags to make the experience even more memorableÂ
Compared to the cost of your typical New York tourist attraction, the guided tours are very affordable, starting at just $60. The catch? There’s just three of them, with fewer than 100 slots left! You can book a tour with Tim now, and if you miss out (or just want to expand your horizons beyond Pickup Truck + SUV Talk for some reason), you can also book tours with a number of other auto journalists and influencers.
