We didn’t see this coming! The 2026 Nissan Armada NISMO takes the large SUV into the high-performance territory, the first-ever NISMO-branded version of the vehicle.
2026 Nissan Armada NISMO has arrived
Going on sale this Fall, the Nissan Armada NISMO draws on over 40 years of motorsport engineering adding more power, sharper handling and bold new styling inside and out.
Under the hood, NISMO engineers have tweaked the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 to deliver 460 horsepower, 35 more than other Armada models, thanks to revised engine programming and fine-tuned valve clearances on premium fuel. The enhanced powertrain is paired with a retuned exhaust system for a more aggressive note, amplified inside the cabin through Active Sound Enhancement.
Steering and suspension also get the NISMO treatment, with revised electric power steering and a sport-tuned Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension designed to deliver more responsive driving dynamics.

The exterior features:
- unique aerodynamic body kit
- redesigned front and rear fascias
- NISMO grille

The exclusive NISMO Stealth Gray with Super Black roof is among several color options available.
Inside, the Armada NISMO blends sport and sophistication with quilted charcoal leather, red accents, adjustable sport front seats, aluminum pedals, and ambient lighting.
Pricing hasn’t been announced officially. It should be above $70,000 based on other Armada prices.
2026 Armada lineup
As part of a broader 2026 Armada lineup, the NISMO joins trims like SV, SL, Platinum, PRO-4X, and Platinum Reserve.
The base Armada continues to offer a robust 425-hp version of the same twin-turbo V6, a standard 8,500-lb towing capacity, and available features like Nissan’s new Klipsch 12-speaker premium audio system and ProPILOT Assist 2.1 for hands-free freeway driving.
For off-roaders, the Armada PRO-4X provides a rugged option with all-terrain tires, a locking differential, underbody skid plates, and Lava Red styling cues.
Our take
This is an great move by Nissan, a company that has had a rough go for the past few years, and definitely got our attention. Take an existing product and combine it with an in-house performance company to create something unique in the marketplace. Early critics say they won’t sell that many, so what? This is positive PR and something that dealers can show off in the showroom either in person or on posters to create some buzz.
